{"id":3464,"date":"2015-10-12T15:47:11","date_gmt":"2015-10-12T15:47:11","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.visualconstructionmarketing.com\/?p=3464"},"modified":"2015-12-09T14:18:57","modified_gmt":"2015-12-09T14:18:57","slug":"understand-how-architects-see-the-world-to-sell-more-building-products","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/visualconstructionmarketing.com\/2014\/understand-how-architects-see-the-world-to-sell-more-building-products\/","title":{"rendered":"Understand How Architects See the World to Sell More Building Materials"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>[et_pb_section admin_label=&#8221;section&#8221;][et_pb_row admin_label=&#8221;row&#8221;][et_pb_column type=&#8221;4_4&#8243;][et_pb_text admin_label=&#8221;Text&#8221; background_layout=&#8221;light&#8221; text_orientation=&#8221;left&#8221; use_border_color=&#8221;off&#8221; border_color=&#8221;#ffffff&#8221; border_style=&#8221;solid&#8221;]<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">During my time getting my architecture degree in college, I realized pretty quickly that not many people saw things quite the same way. \u00a0I have always wanted to see and understand how every little connector, part and component go together and was excited to see that many great architects of the past and present felt the same. \u00a0\u00a0While most were interested in the final product of architecture &#8211; the outward appearance of the finished project &#8211; I was equally interested in all the things you never see once a building is completed. \u00a0All the materials, products, connectors, etc. are as beautiful to me as any stainless steel appliance, granite countertop or other decorative design element.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Architects tend to have 2 streams of consciousness running simultaneously<\/b><\/p>\n<p>This is the way most of the architects you will encounter look at the world. \u00a0They look at everything, they see everything and they tend to maintain two tracks of consciousness :<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The way the world is<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The way the world could be<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It is like there is a sub-title track at the bottom of their movie, constantly trying to bridge the gap between what is, and what could be.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Help them bridge the gap<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Visually, this means show them how you product makes the world better. \u00a0\u00a0Demonstrate your love for your products by making them look beautiful. \u00a0\u00a0Explain how your product keeps that wall from deteriorating (thus becoming ugly) \u00a0by helping water drain out. \u00a0Share the root passion of how and why your product makes the world a more beautiful place. \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Regards and I hope you find beauty today, even when it is not pretty.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">-JY<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">About the Author :<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Jason Yana has 2 decades of experience in architectural technology, 3d graphics and construction marketing.
